Well worth a visit. Thank you to the wee lady who gave us the guided tour, she was an absolute sweetheart.

Very interesting little croft museum with knowledgeable guides

Delightful little museum. The croft is just as it was when Mary Ann left it in the 90s after living there for over 90 years and having made few changes. It is run by a trust and is normally open in the afternoons. The volunteers who showed us round were very knowledgeable and one of them had been brought up on a similar croft. We visited on the trust's 25th anniversary so I guess it was busier than usual but we were given a full guided tour.

Dropped in when passing, not knowing what to expect . But what a completely delightful visit we had! Interesting, touching and personal. Brought to life by the two lovely guides in an informal, relaxed way but with superb detail and excellent local knowledge, willingly shared. Well worth a stop off on your way to or from Dunnet Head or when passing through on the main road . Im so glad we did .

Wow. What a fascinating place of remarkable social history. We had a great tour guide who really brought the history alive. At only 4, this is well worth a visit.
