A good waitress can make a great difference. And so it was.This wasnt the first place where we found a pleasant bar area, versus a totally soulless dining one besides that, the dining room itself was very noisy, because of the many people in itBut (luckily) we also found a truly lovely and willing waitress, who understood that my mother and I just needed a little bit of quietness, and accepted to move us to the bar area and this made our dinner.Thank you :-)We had Grilled lemon Sole with roasted garlic potatoes, capers, crunchy bacon and hazelnut butter excellent!!! (The Warm Chocolate cake instead, to forget).The cherry on top was finding the NC500 Flag waving in the sky, just outside the restaurant. For those of us in love with Scotland, this was great!Price per value: fair (for the main course).
Couldn't see what all the hype from the other reviews was. The front desk was unattended when I went in at about 4 pm, no bell to ring; had to walk in to the bar to find someone. Room was tiny as was the shower. Bed was nice, and room was tidy. Not a bad room, but not anything more than OK. It was quite noisy at night, not sure if it was from a nearby room or from the pub downstairs.
